No, it's not like asking Batchelor #1, "If you blah blah blah, what would you be?" The question is, "Which scenario are you?"
Scenario One is: Infection. This has been the enemy raging throughout his body for the past who knows how long. The Neuro-Surgeon told me that the infections in his head never have responded to the antibiotics. I said, "Wait a minute, every time I call the nurses tell me he is responding." Well, their idea of responding is measured by is there a fever, and is the white count high. These two things might be true for them, but the bacteria were never affected by the antibiotics. If this is infection, on Friday Superman will once again be subjected to surgery. First they will install a tracheostomy (he will not be able to get the ventillator, it has damaged his throat). Then they will replace the vacuum pump in his head. Then they will take living tissue from his abdomen and fill the cavity in his cranium.
Scenario #2: If it is not infection, it is cancer, back raging like a wild animal. At this point there is nothing left to do but make Superman comfortable. How does one do that? How am I supposed to tell my hero that he is going to die?
Let's not forget the meningitis. We still don't know if that is responding to the "Old" new antibiotics.
The Waiting Game... Now we wait to see which it will be behind that curtain.
